Children’s Ministry

Cultivating a heart for God in our youngest disciples

Sunday School:  Sunday school combines singing, prayer time, and age-appropriate Bible learning activities.  Students are actively engaged in mission activities, such as sponsoring an overseas child through Compassion International, collecting coins in their “fish boxes” for the One Great Hour of Sharing, and packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.

Children in Worship:  Every Sunday during worship, children are invited to come forward and sit on the chancel steps for a special “youth message.”  After that, the youngest children are dismissed into the care of skilled childcare workers.  As youngsters get older, they are encouraged to remain in worship.

Vacation Bible School: A highlight of the summer, VBS attracts youngsters from all over our area who enjoy an exciting week of singing, crafts, games, and Bible lessons.  (Jointly sponsored with Murray Christian Church)

Summer Church Camp:  Generous scholarships make it possible for any youngster connected with Murray Presbyterian Church to attend summer church camp.  This often turns out to be a spiritual milestone in their lives!

“Teach children how they should live, and they will remember it all their life.”  (Proverbs 22:6, Good News translation)
